Dura Smith

Funeral Services for Dura Eidson Smith, age 95 of Ashburn will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Smith died Sunday December 29, 2013 at the Heritage Health Care after a long illness.

Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Turner County the daughter of the late Guy H. and Junia Metcalf Eidson. She was a member of the Sycamore United Methodist Church and attended the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, fishing and crocheting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband I. W. Smith and her siblings Harry A. Eidson, Earl Eidson and Runette Sutherland.

She is survived by her children Kyle (Linda) Smith and Joyce S. Purvis of Ashburn and Bobby (Maggie) Powers, Boston, MA and her grandchildren Al (Sherrie) Smith, Crystal (Michael) Brannon, Christy (Eric) Bozeman Amber ( Bruce) Stephens and Kenny (Mary) Purvis and her Great-Grandchildren Michael Brannon, Jr., Matt Brannon, Mitch Brannon, Luke Smith, Blaykelyn Stephens, Wilk Stephens, Payton Bozeman, Reagan Bozeman, Mason Purvis, Hunter Purvis, a special niece Joan Scott.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
