Funeral services for Mr. Carlos A. McNair, 84, of Ashburn, GA will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Ashburn First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. McNair passed away peacefully, Wednesday at his home in the company of his loving wife of fifty nine years.

The son of the late Felix Ashley and Annie Frances Yarbrough McNair, he was born in Mt. Dora, FL and was retired from management with Golden Peanut Co. He had lived in Ashburn since 1987. He was a faithful member of The Ashburn First Baptist Church where he was a deacon, former Sunday school teacher and choir member. He was also a former long time member of The Ashburn Rotary Club. He was also retired as Captain in the US Army and served in the Korean War.

He leaves behind a powerful example of a life lived with integrity, faith, perseverance, humility, generosity and love. He was an example of Proverbs 22: “A good name is more desirable than great riches.”

Survivors include his wife, Harriet Brown McNair of Ashburn. His children, Kimberlin (Steve) Kincaid of Blowing Rock, NC, Deborah Ann (Ian) McTurk of Valdosta, GA, Bonnie Lynn McNair of Macon, GA and David Ashley McNair of Hahira, GA. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Amanda Kincaid, George Kincaid, Nathan Lyon, Kristin Altepeter, Ashley Fletcher and Hannah Fletcher. His great grandchildren, Zeb Fletcher, Anna Altepeter, Ella Fletcher, Lily Altepeter and soon to be born, Tye Fletcher. Also a brother, Lee Audrey McNair, Towanda, KS.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
