James R. "Lanky" Moore

Funeral Services for Mr. James R. “Lanky” Moore, 77, of Rebecca will be held Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rebecca. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Moore passed away Wednesday evening in a Tifton nursing home following a lengthy illness.

The son of the late James Welton and Viola Hobby Moore, he was a native of Turner Co. and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mr. “Lanky” retired from the utilities Department with the City Of Ashburn. An avid baseball and basketball player, fisherman and hunter he was a veteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Margaret Moore, Tampa, Fl.; 2 nieces, 2 nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 till 8 at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
