Funeral services for Mr. A.J. Coley, 92, of Ashburn will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Coley died Thursday at Heritage Health Care following a brief illness.
Mr. Coley was born in Worth County, Ga. and had made his home in Turner County since 1944. Mr. Coley was the son of the late James W. and Minnie Kemp Coley. He was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church and The Gilbert Branch Sunday School Class. He was a former long time Turner County Commissioner; a member of the Hasan Shrine Temple, and was former Manager of Kaiser Ag Chemicals. He was a retired farmer and cattleman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wynelle Odom Coley in 2004.
He is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Ron and Barbara Coley, Phil and Vickie Coley all of Ashburn. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Claudia Coley, Jacksonville, FL, Will Coley, Savannah, GA, Allison Coley, Atlanta, GA, Ashley (Rich) Chelednik, Atlanta, GA and his great grandchildren, Robert & Emily, Louisa, Payton and Trey and a dear care giver and friend, Ann Jackson.
Flowers will be accepted, however for those who wish, please make donations to the Ashburn First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday at Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn, GA.
