Funeral services for Sarah Zell Sargent Robertson, 86, of Ashburn will be held Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mrs. Robertson died Thursday at Heritage Health Care in Ashburn following an extended illness.

Mrs. Robertson was born in Crisp County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Austin Lee and Sarah Merritt Sargent. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was a graduate of Crisp High School, Cordele, Ga. and Berry College and attended the University of Georgia and the University of Alabama. She was a former public school teacher. She was a longtime resident of Tuscaloosa, Alabama before moving to Ashburn in 2001. She enjoyed working in her garden, traveling, shopping, playing bingo and card games. Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Robertson in 2007.

Mrs. Robertson is survived by one son and daughter in law, John Rodney & Carol Robertson, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two daughters and sons in law, Brenda & Paul Perry, Ashburn, Georgia, Sheila & Kenneth Skelton, Magnolia, Texas. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Mark Skelton, Cincinnati, Ohio, Phillip Skelton, Magnolia, Texas, Eilene and Jonathan Perry, Ashburn, Ga., Rod Robertson, Northport, Alabama, Michael Howell, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Dr. Trey Howell, Greensboro, Alabama. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Dylan Howell, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Hannah Howell, Matt Howell, and Laura Beth Howell, all of Greensboro, Alabama and Madison Cook, Magnolia, Texas. She is also survived by her brothers and sister, Jack Sargent, Milledgeville, Ga., Leon Sargent, Remlap, Alabama, and Lucine S. Gaulding, Athens, Georgia.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Monday at Perry Funeral Chapel.
